Khraav was born from the idea that footwear can honour heritage while respecting the planet. The original khraav were wooden shoes carved by Kashmiri artisans to protect feet from snow when modern shoes were unaffordable. They were fashioned from locally harvested willow, mulberry or pecan wood and secured with rope or leather straps. As plastic and rubber footwear became commonplace, this craft disappeared.
Our mission is to revive this forgotten tradition and elevate it for the modern connoisseur.
